REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education: (Preferred)

  • High School or Equivalent

Experience: (Required)

  • One year of experience operating a multi-line telephone or switchboard system
  • Bilingual – Good organizational skills

Duties and Responsibilities: Personal, Team, and Organizational

  • Direct incoming calls to department heads.
  • Provides general information on services provided to patients.
  • Takes messages for all employees in a timely manner.
  • Uses a six-line phone operation to maintain call flows and efficiency.
  • Highly organized and has attention to detail with important information.
  • Has advanced phone techniques for patient service.
  • Make patient appointments and reminder appointments for dental patients.
  • May schedule appointments for patients and specialty care.
  • May perform receptionist and/or routine clerical duties such as filling out forms, answering telephones, or filing.
  • Handles other duties as requested by the Dental staff or Clinic Manager.
  • Calms down nervous and frustrated patients when upset.
  • Handles duties as assigned by staff.
  • Knows the organizational culture, department structure, and environment.
