Bar Lis is Hiring for a Barback / Bar Prep!

The role of the Barback is to ensure that the bartender has everything they need during service to keep everything running smoothly - clean glasses, prepped garnishes, liquor, beer and spirits, ice cubes, etc. They're also responsible for keeping the service area tidy (cleaning up spills and broken glasses) and restocking as necessary. For many, being a Barback is the first step to becoming a bartender! A Barback plays a crucial role and may also help with setting up and breaking down the bar.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Keeping bar full and always stocked.
• Cleaning counters and furniture, cleaning glasses, running food, clearing plates, taking out trash, unclogging sinks, etc.
• Ensures that the bartender has all appropriate mise en place required to do his/her job and is fully set up for success.
• Keeps all bar and storage areas neat and organized.
• Empties trash and recycling.
• Prepares garnishes, refills ice wells, replenishes glasses and straw, restocks liquor bottles, restocks beers, etc.
• Fulfills any other needs as made evident by bartender or management team
• Putting away shipments of liquor and beer.
• Tracking opening and closing inventory levels.
• Helps in all opening and closing duties behind the bar, liquor storage, cellar, and walk in.

Skills / Experience:

• 6 months previous bar, restaurant or hotel experience.
• Must be TIPS certified.
• California Food Handlers Certified.
• Must provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.73 per hour
