JOB SUMMARY
The Business Data Analyst is an integral member of the Fry Steel team and is tasked with working with the Business Development Team, Sales & Leadership to gather, understand and document business requirements that address data and reporting challenges. The Business Data Analyst acts as a bridge between the technology domain and the business domain of the organization. The Business Data Analyst is responsible for documenting current business processes, understanding business models and creating/maintaining KPI Dashboard. The Business Data Analyst supports the analysis, testing and implementation phases of data-driven projects, working closely with business stakeholders and the entire team to ensure project success.

The Business Data Analyst assesses historical data to identify existing anomalies, leading to proposed changes that will optimize business processes to utilize resources efficiently. In addition, the Business Data Analyst is responsible for understanding the data demands of functional departments and works with Information Technology to implement new tools to provide better analytics.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Updates and maintains ERP inventory systems
- Manages, assesses, and coordinates Data Extracts / Information flow from various systems back to various departments for actionable implementation.
- Coordinates and partners with leadership and personnel to achieve KPI Goals
- Acts as liaison for any RTS projects or teams that affect the overall business.
- Provides analysis and feedback related to business needs.
- Participates in other projects related to “Growth Strategies” as needed including but not limited to Reporting out of New SaaS Platforms, ERP transitions and updates, Ecommerce projects, Customer Contract Systems Support, etc.

Required Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in a related field required
- 5+ years of business analysis and data mining experience required
- 2+ years of Metals Industry and Product Knowledge required
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, at all levels including customers, vendors, peers, business stakeholders and management required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products required
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency with some collaboration tools like SharePoint and Box
- Capable of learning new systems and creating/implementing new system functionality
- Previous experience with ERPs such as Eniteo, Dynamics AX, D365, etc. preferred
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
